CPP Strengthens Ties with Local Cadres, Prepares for Elections

On July 26, 2026, H.E. Dr. Othsman Hassan, a member of the Permanent Committee of the CPP Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Phnom Penh Working Group, and Chairman of the Russey Keo District Working Group, continued to preside over dialogue sessions with leaders and members of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) in two more communes within Russey Keo District. The meetings took place at the CPP district headquarters and the commune party headquarters in Kilometre 6 and Russey Keo communes, Phnom Penh. During the event, H.E. Dr. Othsman Hassan expressed his joy in meeting with the brave party activists who have consistently brought success to the party. He explained that while the initial intention was to organize a joint dialogue for all seven communes in Russey Keo District, he decided to hold separate sessions due to the distinct challenges and situations faced by each commune. This approach allows for more targeted and timely discussions and solutions. Dr. Hassan stated that the purpose of these meetings is to enhance the effectiveness of grassroots work and to remind CPP leaders and members at the local level to pay greater attention to their duties and to improve public service delivery to the citizens. He also emphasized the importance of grasping detailed information and the actual situation in each locality. He urged party members to strive to provide excellent, prompt, and transparent public services to the people, and to work diligently to eliminate any past shortcomings that might cause public dissatisfaction. H.E. Dr. Othsman Hassan expressed his hope and confidence that the members and all party working groups will continue to uphold solidarity and unity, serving as a strong force and backbone for the people. He also urged them to successfully implement the outlined strategic plans in preparation for the 6th mandate Commune/Sangkat Council election in June 2027 and the 8th mandate National Assembly election in 2028. These dialogue sessions with leaders and members of the CPP from all seven communes in Russey Keo District will continue from July 25 to July 30, 2026, under the chairmanship of Dr. Othsman Hassan. On July 25, 2026, he had already met with members from three communes: Svay Pak, Trang Cherng, and Trang Cherng II. The remaining two communes, Tuol Sangke I and II, will be met with subsequently.
