Dak Lak Province Collects Remains of One Fallen Soldier from Cu Ju Mountain

On August 6, in Cu Pui Commune, Dak Lak Province, located in Vietnam's Central Highlands, the remains of one fallen soldier were successfully excavated and collected from a cave in Cu Ju Mountain. The discovery was made in a cave near the border of Ngo Hamlet and Ba Phuong Village within Cu Pui Commune, part of the Chu Yang Sin mountain range. The operation was a joint effort between the K51 Unit of the Dak Lak Provincial Military Command and Cu Pui Commune. Information provided by local residents served as crucial guidance for the search and collection teams, enabling authorities to efficiently locate and recover the remains. Dak Lak Province has a history of such recovery missions. Previously, the remains of 27 soldiers who sacrificed their lives on the Cambodian front were repatriated to the province. A solemn ceremony for mourning, eulogy, and interment was attended by the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, highlighting the moving sentiment shared between the military and the local population. Nhan Dan, the official newspaper of the Communist Party of Vietnam, consistently reports on these recovery efforts, emphasizing respect for soldiers who died for national construction and defense, and showing consideration for their families. This is a significant aspect of fostering national unity and honoring historical achievements within Vietnam's one-party system. It can also be seen as an effort to maintain the memory of past wars and enhance national identity amid ongoing economic growth.
