Ho Chi Minh City Holds Solemn Ceremony to Honor Fallen Heroes

On September 6, approximately 100 followers of Cao Dai religion held a solemn ceremony at Le Thi Rieng Park in Ho Chi Minh City to pray for the peace of fallen heroes who sacrificed for the nation. This ceremony reflects the consistent stance of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in expressing gratitude and respect for those who sacrificed during the process of national construction and defense. In particular, expressing collective mourning for the many lives lost in past conflicts, including the Vietnam War, holds significant meaning in strengthening national unity and the desire for peace. Le Thi Rieng Park is also known as a burial site for collected remains from the past, and this ceremony aims to honor these fallen heroes. The Vietnamese government continuously promotes activities related to the collection, identification, and burial of remains of fallen soldiers, and this ceremony is seen as part of those efforts. According to past reports, 571 sets of remains have been collected and buried in the park, with ongoing collection activities. Such memorial events are also positioned as important opportunities to foster patriotism and enhance national loyalty among the populace under Vietnam's one-party system.
