NGCP: Power transmission lines under normal ops for SONA 2026
The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) announced its transmission lines and grid facilities are operating normally ahead of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s 5th State of the Nation Address (SONA). Tight security measures were in place across the capital region.
The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) said Monday its transmission lines and grid facilities are operating normal in time for the 5th State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. Marcos will deliver his SONA at the plenary hall of the House of Representatives in Batasang Pambansa, Quezon City at 4 p.m. “NGCP’s transmission lines and facilities are under normal operations,” the grid operator said. Meanwhile, security was already tight at Batasang Pambansa Complex, Batasan Road, and Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City. More than 20,000 police officers were deployed for SONA 2026. The National Capital Region Police Office has been on full alert for Monday's SONA.
