Kampong Speu Province Commemorates 33rd Anniversary of Constitution Promulgation

The administration of Kampong Speu province organized a ceremony to observe the Constitution of the Kingdom of Cambodia, marking the 33rd anniversary of the "Constitution Promulgation Day." The event was presided over by His Excellency Yim Sokum, Chairman of the Provincial Council, and His Excellency Dr. Cham Chansophann, Governor of Kampong Speu Province. Attendees included provincial council members, deputy governors, heads and deputy heads of provincial departments and surrounding units, armed forces from all three branches, and a large number of civil servants. The ceremony took place in the "Veal Samnang" meeting hall on the second floor of the provincial administration building. On this occasion, His Excellency Dr. Cham Chansophann, Governor of Kampong Speu Province, stated that September 24th, Constitution Promulgation Day, is a significant historical event for the Cambodian nation. It commemorates the adoption and promulgation of the Constitution, the supreme law of the land, on September 24, 1993. He emphasized that it serves as a solid foundation for ensuring peace, political stability, and development in all sectors. Over the past 33 years of implementing the Constitution, the Kingdom of Cambodia has achieved noble constitutional accomplishments, in line with the will enshrined in the Preamble of the Constitution to rebuild the nation as a complete "Island of Peace" under the benevolent shade of His Majesty the King. All national institutions have ensured the regular functioning of public power, and the nation has experienced rapid and progressive development, gaining respect and equal standing on the international stage. This is attributed to the leadership of the heads of national institutions, guided by the wise and insightful leadership of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia. His Excellency Dr. Cham Chansophann further stated that based on the immense achievements across all sectors in the past period, the Kingdom of Cambodia, with the government of the 7th legislature of the National Assembly as the core, led by Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, is highly committed to continuing to implement the Constitution. This implementation upholds the spirit of harmonizing modern and traditional national values, thereby strengthening the power of this force. Simultaneously, it will resolutely maintain peace, national unity, and political stability, which are the fundamental bases ensuring the legitimacy of Cambodia's political regime. This is for the cause of continuing national development, based on the "Political Program" and the "Pentagonal Strategy," to be implemented in stages, aiming to achieve the vision of Cambodia becoming a high-income country by 2050.
