The Cai Mep Ha Free Trade Zone (FTZ) is emerging as a strategic project of special importance, expected to become the city's gateway to global markets and a new growth engine in a new era of development. As a leading center for science, technology, and innovation, Ho Chi Minh City is also focusing on talent development to seize opportunities in the quantum computing era. Furthermore, authorities are accelerating the implementation of the new E-commerce Law, strengthening consumer protection, and enhancing platform accountability to build a safer and more transparent e-commerce ecosystem. In terms of infrastructure, the construction of the second runway at Phu Quoc International Airport is progressing smoothly. After 14 months of construction, the cement concrete pavement for the runway and taxiways has been substantially completed, with hundreds of workers and construction equipment mobilized to finish the project on schedule. Economically, Hanoi's Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) grew by 8.2% in the first half of the year, with the digital economy contributing approximately 1.1 percentage points to this expansion, underscoring its increasing importance. In foreign relations, regarding the US tariff measures on Vietnamese goods, Vietnam emphasizes its sustained efforts to improve its legal framework and comply with international standards, noting that the US decision overlooks realities regarding Vietnam's labor environment and manufacturing practices. Vietnam seeks to continue its cooperation with the US in a constructive and cooperative spirit, while urging the US to take into account the measures Vietnam has adopted when adjusting tariffs.
