Flash Flood in Buriram, Thailand Submerges 1 Km of Main Road

A flash flood originating from the Phanom Dong Rak mountain range has inundated approximately 1 kilometer of the main road connecting Prakhon Chai district and Ban Kruat district in Buriram province, northeastern Thailand. Consequently, the passage of small vehicles has been prohibited. Local authorities are working to ensure safety and manage traffic control in the submerged section, urging residents and vehicles to exercise caution. While the progress of restoration work remains unclear at this time, there are concerns that similar incidents could occur in areas experiencing continuous rainfall. This region is prone to flash floods caused by rapid water surges from mountainous areas during the rainy season, raising concerns about infrastructure impact.
