Tourist Breaks Arm After Falling on Rainy Ba Den Mountain

A series of accidents have occurred on Ba Den Mountain in southern Vietnam, with tourists slipping and sustaining injuries during rainy weather. Around 8:30 AM on September 13th, a 23-year-old male tourist from Ho Chi Minh City slipped and fell near pole number 97 on the "Cot Dien" (Electric Pole) route leading to the summit, fracturing his arm. Unable to move on his own, local rescue forces and the medical department arrived to provide first aid and stabilize the injury before transporting him to the hospital, according to the Management Board of Ba Den Mountain National Tourist Area. Prior to this incident, a 27-year-old tourist from Tay Ninh Province also slipped and injured his arm in the same area. Medical staff provided hemostasis, applied a pressure bandage, administered painkillers, and advised him to seek medical attention for stitches. A representative from the Ba Den Mountain National Tourist Area stated that heavy rains had fallen over the weekend, making the mountain paths wet and slippery. The management board is advising tourists to check the weather before climbing, declare their information at the guard posts, carry first-aid kits and drinking water, follow designated routes, and travel in groups of two or more for mutual support in case of emergencies. Ba Den Mountain, standing at 986 meters, is the highest peak in the South and a popular destination for trekkers, especially on weekends. Currently, tourists are only permitted to use the "Cot Dien" route and the "Mountain Foot - Ba Pagoda" trail, with personal information registration required at the guard posts for departures between 5 AM and 11 AM.
