Thai Airways Climbs to 20th Globally, Singapore Airlines Named World's Best

Thai Airways has climbed to 20th place in Skytrax’s World’s Top 100 Airlines 2026, an improvement from its 29th position last year. Singapore Airlines was named the world’s best airline, with Qatar Airways securing second place and Cathay Pacific Airways taking third. The national carrier also ranked ninth among the best airlines in Asia. Furthermore, Thai Airways received high marks in several specific categories, placing seventh globally for best airport services, tenth for the world’s best airline cabin crew, and ninth for best airline staff in Asia. The airline also secured 15th place in the world for best economy class. Skytrax states that the World Airline Awards are determined by a global passenger satisfaction survey that encompasses over 300 airlines. The 2026 survey was conducted between September 2025 and August 2026, involving passengers from more than 100 nationalities. The evaluation covers various aspects of the passenger journey, including booking and check-in processes, staff service, boarding procedures, airport lounges, seat comfort, cleanliness, food and beverage offerings, in-flight entertainment, Wi-Fi availability, and overall value for money. Thai Airways’ improved rankings for 2026 reflect advancements across multiple service areas compared to the previous year, with the significant rise in the overall global ranking indicating a successful enhancement of its offerings.
