Vietnam, South Korea Deepen Parliamentary and Economic Ties
Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man visited South Korea, meeting with leaders of major Korean conglomerates like Samsung, SK, LG, and Lotte to deepen economic cooperation. President To Lam also engaged in diplomatic activities in Russia and France. National Assembly President Tran Thanh Man met with leaders of major Republic of Korea conglomerates investing in Vietnam, including Samsung, SK, LG and Lotte, during his official visit to the country on September 8. The visit aims to further deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea. During his meeting with RoK National Assembly Speaker Cho Jeong Sik on September 7, President Tran Thanh Man agreed on measures to enhance cooperation in economic ties, science and technology, parliamentary cooperation, and people-to-people exchanges. Bilateral relations are developing strongly, underpinned by an increasingly solid political foundation. Vietnam consistently attaches importance to its relations with the Republic of Korea and wants bilateral ties to continue growing substantively, effectively and sustainably. Economically, trade, investment, and production are becoming increasingly interconnected. Cooperation between the two economies is broadening in both scale and scope, with new investments in semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and green energy, opening up new opportunities for higher-value production and stronger links between businesses. Meanwhile, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President To Lam is on diplomatic visits to Russia and France. On September 8 in Moscow, he met with Chairman of the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin and Chairman of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov, among others, to strengthen bilateral relations. He also attended the opening of a Vietnam-Russia heritage and cultural connectivity space. Furthermore, from September 9-11, President To Lam is scheduled to visit France to attend the International Space Summit. These high-level diplomatic activities demonstrate Vietnam's pursuit of multifaceted international relations and its commitment to economic growth and strengthening strategic partnerships.
