Northern and North-Central Vietnam are bracing for prolonged heavy rainfall as a tropical depression in the Tonkin Gulf is expected to intensify into a typhoon. Twelve provinces and cities are forecast to receive localized rainfall exceeding 500mm, prompting urgent warnings.
