Lang Son Inaugurates Over 390 Billion VND Border Area Boarding School

Lang Son Province, Vietnam, on September 5, celebrated the inauguration of the Mau Son Primary and Lower Secondary Boarding School (Trường Phổ thông nội trú liên cấp Tiểu học và THCS Mẫu Sơn) and the commencement of the 2026-2027 academic year. The school, constructed at a total cost of over 390 billion VND (approximately $15 million USD), was completed in nearly a year. Located in Mau Son village in the border area, the facility will accommodate 1,260 students and over 80 staff members. The project was spearheaded by the Lang Son Provincial People's Committee as part of efforts to improve educational infrastructure in border regions. Alongside Mau Son, four other boarding schools in border communes—Kien Moc, Quat Xa, and Quoc Khanh—were also opened. Construction of the Mau Son school began in November 2025 on an area of nearly 70,000 square meters, with the Lang Son Provincial Police serving as the investor. The inauguration ceremony featured the reading of a congratulatory message from General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President To Lam to the education sector for the new academic year. Representatives from the Ministry of Education and Training and Lang Son Province presented gifts to the school and its students. Support was also extended to students facing difficulties and local residents affected by the project. The establishment of this boarding school aims to provide students in border areas with access to quality education and a secure living environment. As Vietnam continues its economic growth, the government is focusing on bridging regional disparities and ensuring equal educational opportunities.
