Vietnam Announces Personnel Decisions for Party, State Officials; Strengthens Diplomatic and Economic Cooperation

Vietnam has announced significant personnel decisions concerning officials within the Party and State apparatus. These appointments are aimed at accelerating the implementation of key directives and resolutions from the Party, the National Assembly, and the Government, particularly those from the 14th National Party Congress. The expansion of training curricula for strategic-level leaders by the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA) further deepens Party-to-Party diplomacy, highlighting the crucial role of the Party's flagship unit for ideology and personnel training. Politburo member and Chairman of the National Assembly Party Committee, Tran Thanh Man, emphasized the importance of strengthening the contingent of officials and Party members with firm political mettle, strong moral integrity, and professional competence. He also called for innovation in working methods and the advancement of digital transformation and the application of artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance transparency, efficiency, and effectiveness. In the realm of diplomacy, amidst a rapidly changing and complex global landscape, ambassadors and other diplomatic personnel are urged to remain steadfast in principles while being flexible in tactics. They are tasked with proactively safeguarding national interests, maintaining independence and self-reliance, and seeking new advantages and opportunities for the country while contributing to global peace and development. Vietnam is actively pursuing bilateral and multilateral engagements, including the establishment of a Strategic Partnership with Bulgaria and political consultations with Egypt, alongside cooperation with the Arab League. The nation's participation in the UN General Assembly underscores its commitment to multilateralism and the central role of the UN, reflecting its consistent foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation, and development, alongside the multilateralization and diversification of external relations. Economically, the potential for expanded international cooperation in fields such as semiconductors, AI, data centers, advanced digital services, and human resource training is being explored. These areas align with Vietnam's goal of having the digital economy account for 30% of GDP by 2030. Vietnam is also projected to remain a growth leader in Southeast Asia during the period of 2026-2035. Furthermore, agreements have been reached with China to strengthen border management, strictly implement legal documents concerning the land border, and enhance efforts to combat cross-border crimes and facilitate customs clearance. These developments collectively demonstrate Vietnam's commitment to an open foreign policy based on independence, self-reliance, peace, and friendship, positioning it as a reliable partner and a responsible member of the international community.
