Vietnam Strengthens Regional Quantum Tech Ecosystem

Gia Lai province has hosted international quantum computing hackathons and the second advanced school on topological quantum matters. These events serve as platforms to promote knowledge sharing and foster cooperative relationships among experts. Under its one-party system, Vietnam places significant emphasis on the development of advanced technologies as a national strategy, and quantum technology is no exception. Amidst its continuous economic growth, strengthening international competitiveness through technological innovation and securing advantages in supply chains are pressing issues. Particularly, with the complex relationship with China, technological self-reliance is also deemed crucial from a national security perspective. These regional cooperation efforts can be seen as part of Vietnam's strategy to expand its influence in the technology sector through cooperation with ASEAN member states.
