PCG Deploys Assets to Drive Away Chinese Research Ship in Philippine EEZ

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) deployed a patrol vessel and aircraft to drive away the Chinese research vessel JIA HAI KE 7, which was allegedly conducting unauthorized marine scientific research within the Philippines' exclusive economic zone (EEZ) off Batanes. A China Coast Guard vessel also arrived at the scene, escalating tensions.
