Prabowo Convenes Ministers at Hambalang to Discuss Housing Finance Access

President Prabowo Subianto convened a limited meeting with ministers at Hambalang, Bogor on Tuesday (1/9/2026). The meeting discussed improving the quality of housing and residential environments for the public, as well as policies to ease access to housing finance, enabling more citizens to own homes. "The meeting discussed efforts to provide more decent and affordable housing, including policies to ease access to housing finance so that more people can own a home," quoted from the Cabinet Secretariat's Instagram account @sekretariat.kabinet on Tuesday (1/9/2026). In line with this, through the "Gerakan Indonesia ASRI" (Healthy and Beautiful Indonesia Movement), a comprehensive improvement of residential environments is being encouraged. Through the ASRI program, the government strives to realize decent housing not only in terms of buildings but also in environments that are clean, healthy, safe, comfortable, tidy, and beautiful. Furthermore, from 2025 to the present, the house renovation program has reached 400,000 houses, followed by various efforts to improve the quality of the living environment through the provision and improvement of clean water and MCK (sanitation facilities), waste management, and the enhancement of environmental cleanliness and beauty. "This is the spirit of Indonesia ASRI: to provide housing that is increasingly decent and an environment that is increasingly beautiful, while respecting the character, culture, and local wisdom in each region," the caption from the Cabinet Secretariat's Instagram account stated. The meeting was attended by, among others, Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, and Coordinating Minister for Regional Development and Infrastructure Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono. Also present were Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, Minister of State Prasetyo Hadi, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
