Vietnam Unveils First Aluminum Ingot Products, Boosting Industrial Self-Reliance

Lam Dong Province, Vietnam – July 26 – A ceremony was held today in Lam Dong Province to introduce Vietnam's first aluminum ingot products, marking a significant milestone in the development of the country's aluminum industry and contributing to greater economic self-reliance. The event, organized by the Lam Dong provincial People’s Committee and Tran Hong Quan Metallurgy Co., Ltd, signifies a crucial step for Vietnam in reducing its reliance on imported raw materials and enhancing its domestic production capabilities. This advancement in the aluminum sector aligns with Vietnam's broader national strategy to strengthen its value chain, from resource extraction and processing to the production of finished goods. The country has recently emerged as one of the world's top steel producers, indicating a growing ambition in heavy industries. Officials have noted that opportunities for continued steel exports to the US remain, suggesting potential export avenues for Vietnamese aluminum products as well.
