Military vehicle attacked with mines in Salin Township

(July 26) A vehicle carrying members of the military council forces and Pyu Saw Htee was attacked with mines in Salin Township, Magway Region, resulting in numerous casualties on the military council side and damage to the vehicle, the local defense force announced today (July 26). According to the statement, on July 25, approximately 25 members of the military council forces and Pyu Saw Htee from the Kan Pa police station in Salin Township were reported to be moving by vehicle to Thit Khote Taung village. They were ambushed and attacked with mines on a section of the Kan Pa–Thit Khote Taung road. After an exchange of fire between both sides for about 20 minutes, the vehicle carrying the military council forces members drove away from the scene, the statement said. According to follow-up investigations by the local defense force, numerous members of the military council forces and Pyu Saw Htee on board the vehicle sustained injuries, and the vehicle was also damaged. The attack was jointly carried out by the Doung Nyi Nonaung Urban Guerrilla Force and SLN LPDF, it was announced.
