The Gendarmerie of Banteay Meanchey Province in western Cambodia has declared a firm stance to intensify its crackdown on all forms of crime, particularly online scams. Commander of the Provincial Gendarmerie, Brigadier General Paoun Bin, issued strict orders to his forces to enhance cooperation and maximize work efficiency to the highest level, especially in eradicating cyber fraud that is negatively impacting society, as well as combating narcotics trafficking, human trafficking, and all other criminal offenses. The meeting served to review the work achievements of the first half of 2026 and set operational directions for the second half of the year. During the occasion, Brigadier General Paoun Bin conveyed greetings from Lieutenant General Sao Sokha, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and Commander of the National Gendarmerie, to all officers and soldiers. He also paid tribute to the fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives for the nation. Commander Paoun Bin commended the efforts of all forces in fulfilling their duties. To ensure high efficiency in the second half of the year, he outlined key recommendations: all gendarmerie officers must strictly adhere to their roles, duties, and orders; work with clear plans, conduct monitoring, and report regularly through the hierarchy; and uphold dignity and legal procedures in their work to gain public support and trust. He also emphasized the importance of protecting the security of national and international leaders, high-ranking officials, tourists, and investors during all events occurring within the province. The commander strongly emphasized the campaign against these offenses, urging forces to "hold firm and investigate thoroughly" regarding online scams, as well as narcotics, human trafficking, and other criminal activities, stating that these crimes will not be allowed to take root in the area.
