Poipet Police Arrest Teen Gang for Motorcycle Vandalism

In Poipet City, Banteay Meanchey Province, Cambodia, three members of a teenage gang known as "Flying Scissors," notorious for their violent acts including motorcycle destruction, have been arrested by the military police. They were sent to the Banteay Meanchey Provincial Court on August 2nd. According to Lieutenant Colonel Til Thai Liv, Commander of the Poipet City Military Police, the arrested suspects are Som Banhya But, 18, Hiek Chieng Leng, 17, and Nuon Viza, 18. All reside in Kilometer 4 Village, Psar Kandal Commune, Poipet City. The incident came to light following a complaint filed on July 22nd by Sin Yong Chin, 20, and Ieng Sovannara, 16, residents of Kabal Koh Village, Ou Chrov Commune, Poipet City. The victims reported that a group of five youths, nicknamed "Flying Scissors," armed with knives and clubs, chased them. After they fled, the suspects proceeded to destroy their motorcycles. Lieutenant Colonel Til Thai Liv stated that upon receiving the complaint, the local military police initiated an investigation and identified the suspects. Three individuals were apprehended on July 29th in Kilometer 4 Village, Psar Kandal Commune, Poipet City. Following their confessions, legal procedures are being followed.
