Cambodian Senate Refers 4 Draft Laws on International Treaties and Agreements to Specialized Committees

On July 23, 2026, the Standing Committee of the Cambodian Senate, during its 5th mandate, convened a meeting chaired by HE Uch Boribot, First Vice-President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia. Following review and discussion, the Standing Committee decided to assign four draft laws for further examination by specialized committees. The four draft laws are: 1. A draft law approving the Kingdom of Cambodia's accession to the International Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment and the Protocol to the Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment relating to SpecificMachinery Aircraft. 2. A draft law approving the ASEAN Framework Agreement on Mutual Recognition Arrangements. 3. A draft law approving the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement for Building and Construction Materials. 4. A draft law approving the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Type Approvals for Automotive Products. These draft laws will be jointly examined by the Committee on Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Information, and the Committee on Public Works, Transport, Civil Aviation, Post, Telecommunications, Industry, Science, Technology, Innovation, Mines, Energy, Commerce, Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction. This initiative reflects Cambodia's commitment to strengthening its economic ties and integrating further into regional and international frameworks, aiming to streamline trade, investment, and industrial development.
