Cambodia Enhances Diplomatic Capabilities for International Missions
Cambodia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs is conducting a capacity-building training for diplomats ahead of their overseas assignments. This initiative aims to strengthen their ability to protect independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, while also promoting Cambodia's economy, society, and culture internationally.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cambodia, through the National Institute of Diplomacy and International Relations, is providing a capacity-building training for senior diplomats who have been appointed to serve abroad. The training program was officially launched on the morning of July 1, 2026, in the presence of Dr. Khee Vannarothana, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Dr. Bong Sovath, Undersecretary of State, and Mr. Chhey Vicheth, President of the National Institute of Diplomacy and International Relations, also participated. This capacity-building initiative involves 25 senior diplomats who have been appointed to leadership positions as heads and deputy heads of diplomatic missions at Cambodian representative offices abroad. Dr. Khee Vannarothana emphasized the necessity of organizing this training for senior diplomats to ensure they are fully equipped with the necessary skills for their upcoming missions. He highlighted that the program aims to update them on the latest global developments before they commence their diplomatic duties.
