Vietnam-France Ties to Deepen Through Cultural, Educational Cooperation

Vincent Boulet, the French Communist Party (PCF)’s foreign affairs head, has proposed that joint cultural and educational projects between Vietnam and France should be scaled up to draw in younger generations. He emphasized that this initiative would strengthen social bonds and lay a solid foundation for the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. This vision aligns with the evolving nature of Vietnam-France relations, moving from cooperation towards "co-creation." In recent years, both nations have explored new opportunities for collaboration, including in areas such as space technology, signaling a growing dynamism in their bilateral engagement. For Vietnam, a nation under a one-party system that has achieved notable economic growth and increased its global presence, deepening ties with traditional partners like France is strategically significant. This is particularly relevant as Vietnam manages its complex relationship with China while simultaneously fostering stronger connections with Western countries.
