A proposed batching plant project in Barangay Beckel, La Trinidad, Benguet, has been canceled following strong opposition from the local community. Ben P. Cayabas, owner and proprietor of Datanian’s Batching Plant, surrendered his environmental clearances amid community objections. La Trinidad Mayor Roderick Awingan announced the decision in an online post. Batching plants are facilities used for mixing aggregates for concrete production. Residents near the proposed site had raised concerns about dust, noise, increased traffic, and environmental impacts.
