The incident occurred on the evening of June 28th in Chrolong Mlor Village, Prey Rumdoul Commune. The victim, the wife (40, farmer), filed a complaint against her husband (35) at the police station on the morning of June 29th. According to the wife, around 6:30 PM the previous evening, upon returning from the fields, her husband was extremely drunk. He insulted her mother, threatened to kill her, and attacked her with stones, wooden sticks, and a knife. He also reportedly fired a rubber slingshot at her, but she and her family narrowly escaped without injury. According to Phnum Srouch District Police, after receiving the complaint, specialized police officers went to the suspect's home at 10 AM on June 29th and arrested him. During questioning, the suspect initially denied his wife's accusations, briefly stating that his intoxication was the cause. However, police revealed that the suspect, Sum Thara, had previously signed a commitment at the Prey Rumdoul Police Post on December 16th, 2025, for domestic violence.
