Cambodia Gears Up for National Sports Events: 5th National Games and 3rd Paralympic Games
Cambodia is preparing for the 5th National Games and 3rd National Paralympic Games scheduled for November 2026. Technical meetings involving 32 national sports federations and the National Paralympic Committee have been held to finalize regulations and competition events.
Preparations are underway in Cambodia for the 5th National Games and the 3rd National Paralympic Games, scheduled to be held in November 2026. On June 1st, Mr. Hout Sengtry, Director of the Department of Event Organization and Sports Statistics, led a meeting with representatives from various national sports federations and the National Paralympic Committee of Cambodia. The meeting focused on organizing general regulations, technical rules, and determining the number of competition events for each sport. Mr. Hout Sengtry emphasized the importance of this meeting, which brought together 32 national sports federations and the National Paralympic Committee of Cambodia, to discuss and establish common principles for the smooth and successful implementation of the games. He added that the National Games, a major event held every two years, will feature 32 sports, while the National Paralympic Games will include 7 sports. The technical meeting was attended by the Director, Deputy Directors, Office Chiefs, representatives from all 32 national sports federations and the National Paralympic Committee, as well as relevant technical officials. The 5th National Games and the 3rd National Paralympic Games will take place from November 6th to 15th, 2026. Three ministries and 25 provinces/cities will participate, with competitions held in Phnom Penh, Kep, Kampong Chhnang, and Svay Rieng provinces. The official opening ceremony is scheduled for November 7th, 2026, at 4:00 PM at the National Olympic Stadium, under the high presidency of Prime Minister Hun Manet.
