Cambodian National Police Chief Attends ASEANAPOL Conference in Manila

General Sar Thet, Director General of the National Police of Cambodia, led a high-level delegation from the National Police Headquarters to attend the 44th ASEANAPOL Conference in Manila, Philippines, on the morning of July 22, 2026. This participation was in response to an invitation from the Philippine National Police and in accordance with the Joint Communiqué (JC) of the 43rd ASEANAPOL Conference held in Thailand. The participation was made with the permission of Samdech Techo Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, and Mr. Sar Sokha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. According to the National Police Headquarters, the 44th ASEANAPOL Conference is being held from July 22 to July 26, 2026, in Manila. The ASEANAPOL Conference is an important annual forum for the heads of national police of ASEAN member countries to meet and discuss enhancing law enforcement cooperation and combating all types of transnational crime. It also includes bilateral meetings with the heads of national police institutions of partner dialogue countries (DP) and observers (OB). Prior to the official opening of the ASEANAPOL Conference, working group meetings were held. In this context, a working group from the National Police Headquarters of Cambodia, consisting of three representatives led by Major General Mao Pov, Deputy Chief of Staff, participated in the 15th Executive Committee meeting. The purpose of this working group meeting was to discuss and make final decisions on the content that had been unanimously agreed upon by the conference, in preparation for submission to the forum. The head of the delegation announced the approval and inclusion of these decisions in the Joint Communiqué of the 44th ASEANAPOL Conference.
