Cambodia Deports 162 Chinese Nationals Involved in Online Scams

Cambodian authorities have deported 162 Chinese nationals, including two women, for their alleged involvement in online scams and illegal overstaying. The operation was carried out on July 19th. Following the high directives of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sar Sokha, and under the guidance of Major General Sok Vathana, Director General of Immigration, the Department of Investigation and Procedure, in cooperation with the Chinese Embassy in the Kingdom of Cambodia, proceeded with the deportation of these 162 Chinese citizens through the Techo International Border Gate. Some of the deported individuals were found to have lacked passports. This deportation is a strict legal measure implemented under the leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet and Deputy Prime Minister Sar Sokha, aimed at eradicating cybercrimes within the Kingdom. The efforts are focused on protecting the safety of citizens both domestically and globally, with a particular emphasis on apprehending masterminds behind these operations and rescuing victims lured into scam activities.
