New six-storey hospital building of Bago General Hospital (500 beds) opened with over K2.6 billion of state fund

A new six-storey hospital building of Bago General Hospital (500 beds) has been opened, utilizing over K2.6 billion of state fund, according to the Ministry of Health. The opening ceremony of the new six-storey hospital building of Bago General Hospital was held at the hospital on July 13. Union Minister for Health, Professor Dr. Thet Khaing Win, and officials cut the ribbon to open the new building and sprayed scented water on the commemorative plaque, and then inspected the interior of the six-storey hospital building. The building was constructed on a 25.03-acre plot of land using K2,649.727 million of state fund and includes two elevators. New X-ray machines, laboratory equipment, patient beds, and other hospital supplies for use in the ward have also been provided. Bago General Hospital is currently providing healthcare services to an average of about 350 inpatients and 550 outpatients daily in 14 specialized fields. The newly opened six-storey hospital building will provide healthcare services including a fever ward, cancer treatment ward, surgical ward, orthopedic ward, support departments, and modern operating rooms. Following that, the Union Minister and his delegation visited the Phayargyi Township Hospital in Bago Township and inspected the emergency department, laboratory, inpatient ward, and operating rooms.
