Phatthalung Beauty Clinic in Thailand Faces Outcry Over Nose Thread Lift Complications

Serious concerns regarding medical safety in beauty clinics have emerged in Phatthalung province, southern Thailand. A patient who underwent a nose thread lift procedure at a local clinic reported inflammation and severe pain post-treatment. Upon removal of the threads, a foreign object resembling fishing line was discovered. The incident was reported by MGR Online (South) on September 24, 2026, based on information from the affected patient. According to the report, the patient experienced worsening swelling and pain after the procedure, suffering unbearable agony. Shockingly, during the thread removal at the clinic, a foreign object similar to fishing line, rather than the intended medical threads, was extracted from the patient's nose. This incident is likely to prompt a re-examination of quality control, practitioner skills, and the safety of medical devices used in Thailand's cosmetic medical services. The occurrence of such foreign object contamination in a medical institution, where patient safety should be paramount, raises concerns for other patients as well. Swift and thorough investigation by the authorities is urgently needed.
