India Welcomes Versatile Electric Motorcycle 'Simple Wave'

Simple Energy, an Indian electric vehicle manufacturer, has launched its new electric motorcycle, the 'Simple Wave', for the Indian market. Positioned as a strategic entry into the family scooter segment, the bike features a practical design and a generous storage capacity of up to 70 liters. The Simple Wave is available in six variants across three series: S, Wave, and Wave+. Pricing starts from $1,200. Simple Energy offers four battery options and two electric motor choices, allowing for a range from 110 km to a maximum of 243 km on a single charge. Depending on the variant, the Simple Wave is equipped with either a 7-inch LCD or TFT display. Higher-end models include advanced features such as a traction control system, regenerative braking, hill-hold assist, reverse mode, walk mode, and vehicle tracking. Constructed with a steel tube frame, the motorcycle features a telescopic front suspension and twin rear shock absorbers. It rides on 12-inch wheels, with disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear, complemented by a Combi-Braking System (CBS). Charging can be done via a portable charger, with the Wave+ model capable of reaching 80% charge from 0% in approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes using a fast charger. The design includes a minimalist front fairing with LED headlights, a flat floorboard, and slim LED taillights integrated with turn signals. The seat is a single unit, and six exterior color options are available. The Simple Wave measures 1,920 mm in length, has a seat height of 775 mm, and a ground clearance of 175 mm, capable of wading through 300 mm of water. Total storage capacity is 70 liters, with 63 liters in the under-seat compartment, 3 liters in the front storage bin, and 4 liters in a side compartment.
