Kandal Province Completes Systematic Land Registration Campaign

Kandal Province, Cambodia, officially announced on July 29, 2026, the final completion of its systematic land registration campaign across the entire province. This declaration followed the distribution of 23,067 land ownership certificates to residents. Governor Kuoch Chamroeun highlighted this achievement during the certificate distribution ceremony in Khsach Kandal District. He expressed gratitude for the initiative spearheaded by Prime Minister Hun Sen to promote land registration, and the acceleration of certificate issuance by Prime Minister Hun Manet, ensuring legal security and peace of mind for landholders in Kandal Province. Governor Chamroeun lauded the efforts of the provincial and district administrations, officials, and the systematic land registration team who dedicated their time and energy to successfully conclude the campaign province-wide. Kandal Province, strategically located surrounding Phnom Penh and bordering Vietnam, covers a total area of 3,278 square kilometers and has a population of 1,434,336. As of 2025, the province's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) reached US$4.259 billion, with a per capita income of US$3,006. The rapid development has led to increasing demand for land for investment and housing, making the security of land tenure essential. Governor Chamroeun stated that this effort is being implemented under the "Pentagonal Strategy Phase 1" of the Cambodian government for the 7th mandate of the National Assembly, focusing on "Growth, Employment, Equity, Efficiency, and Sustainability." Specifically, the fourth pillar of the Pentagonal Strategy, concerning the strengthening of urban planning and modernization, underscores the importance of land management and urban development. The provincial administration, relevant ministries, and specialized departments are diligently implementing the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction's 15 priority policies, particularly the fifth key priority, by accelerating land registration and the issuance of certificates. This is being done under the framework of "Final Registration, Satisfactory Service, and Conflict-Free Environment." This accomplishment is expected to significantly contribute to resolving disputes, securing land tenure, and transforming land into a robust source of capital for investment, thereby enhancing the living standards of the people and promoting the development of Kandal Province and the nation as a whole.
