Vietnam, Malaysia Boost Defense Cooperation: PM Meets Malaysian Defense Minister

Prime Minister Le Minh Hung met with Malaysian Defense Minister Mohamed Khaled bin Nordin on August 5 at the Government Office. The meeting took place during the Malaysian Defense Minister's official visit to Vietnam. Prime Minister Hung emphasized that Vietnam highly values promoting its comprehensive strategic partnership with Malaysia. Both countries agreed to strengthen practical and effective cooperation in the defense sector, which is expected to contribute to maintaining regional stability and security. This meeting reaffirms Vietnam's stance of prioritizing the strengthening of relations with neighboring countries in its foreign policy. In particular, deepening defense cooperation is anticipated to foster trust between the two nations and enhance their capacity to jointly address regional challenges. In recent years, Vietnam has continued its economic growth under a one-party system, increasing its presence on the international stage. Its foreign policy aims to maximize national interests while stabilizing regional order. Especially concerning its relationship with China, Vietnam maintains a stance of seeking cooperation and dialogue while safeguarding its sovereignty and national interests.
