Cambodia's Ministry of Information Summons 'Kru Tueur' Influencers for Inappropriate Content

Cambodia's Ministry of Information has summoned "Kru Tueur" (Mr. Chim Sophak) and his team, prominent social media influencers, for producing and disseminating inappropriate content that negatively impacts the dignity of medical professionals and social morality. According to the ministry's announcement, it has continuously monitored and analyzed the video content produced and published by "Kru Tueur's" social media page. As a result, the ministry has determined that this content has severely damaged the honor, dignity, and professional integrity of healthcare providers, and has also had a negative influence on the social morality that the general public has always respected. To ensure the maintenance of information order, adherence to ethical codes, and to avoid disseminating content that causes negativity to the public, the Ministry of Information has notified Mr. Chim Sophak and his team to attend a meeting and receive guidance on August 3 (Monday) at 2:00 PM in the meeting room on the first floor of the General Directorate of Information and Audiovisual building of the ministry. This summons highlights the growing importance of content regulation in Cambodia, alongside the rapid proliferation of social media. The government is demonstrating its stance to provide guidance and regulation against expressions that undermine social order and public interest, while also respecting free information dissemination.
