Vietnamese Leaders Congratulate Cuba on Moncada Barracks Attack Anniversary

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and State President To Lam on July 26 sent a congratulatory message to Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of Cuba on the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the attack on the Moncada Barracks (July 26, 1953 – 2026). This gesture highlights the long-standing historical friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Cuba, both socialist nations. The two countries share a history of mutual support, including Cuba's assistance to Vietnamese military experts during the Vietnam War. Currently, they maintain close cooperation across various fields such as politics, economy, and culture. Vietnam consistently supports Cuba's economic development and voices solidarity with the nation in international forums. As one-party communist states, Vietnam and Cuba share ideological kinship.
