Hanoi Metro Line 5 Underground Construction Advances with First Steel Cage Installation
Construction of Hanoi's Metro Line 5 has begun in earnest with the installation of a steel cage at ST10 station. The project, symbolizing Vietnam-Japan cooperation, is funded by Japanese ODA and the city's budget.
The first construction activity for Hanoi's Metro Line 5 has commenced with the lowering of a reinforced steel cage for the diaphragm wall at the underground ST10 (Pham Van Bach) station, a key station on the line. The project is financed by official development assistance (ODA) from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) alongside the city’s corresponding fund. It stands as a symbol of the strong friendship and enduring cooperation between Vietnam and Japan. The main route of Line 5 starts at the Van Cao – Hoang Hoa Tham intersection and ends at Thach Binh Station (Hoa Lac), with a total length of approximately 39.6 km. Additionally, the project includes two branches connecting to Depot No. 1 (in Son Dong and Duong Hoa communes) and Depot No. 2 (in Hoa Lac commune), with a total branch length of about 4.8 km.
