The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that the weather in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) regions on Monday, August 3, will be dominated by cloudy to overcast conditions, with air temperatures ranging from 22 to 34 degrees Celsius. Entering August, the dry season continues to dominate most of Indonesia. However, the potential for local rain clouds to form in the afternoon and evening remains in the Jabodetabek area. In the DKI Jakarta area, the weather is expected to be cloudy from morning to afternoon, followed by overcast conditions in the late afternoon and evening. Temperatures are forecast to range from 25 to 34 degrees Celsius, with humidity levels between 45-85 percent. South and East Jakarta are anticipated to experience the highest temperatures, reaching 34 degrees Celsius, while Central, West, and North Jakarta, along with the Thousand Islands, will see temperatures between 25-33 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the Bogor area is predicted to have sunny to partly cloudy weather, with temperatures between 22 to 31 degrees Celsius. The Puncak, Cisarua, and southern Bogor Regency areas are expected to be the coolest in Jabodetabek. An increase in cloud cover is possible in the afternoon, but the chance of rain is still localized and light in intensity. In Depok City, sunny weather is predicted with temperatures ranging from 24 to 33 degrees Celsius. Tangerang is expected to experience similar conditions, with temperatures between 24 to 33 degrees Celsius. Bekasi is estimated to be one of the hottest areas in Jabodetabek, with daytime maximum temperatures potentially reaching 34 degrees Celsius. The predominantly sunny weather is expected to support community activities, but residents are urged to avoid prolonged direct sunlight, especially between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM WIB. The BMKG advises the public to maintain adequate fluid intake while carrying out outdoor activities, use sun protection such as hats, umbrellas, or sunscreen, and refrain from burning waste or land, as dry conditions during the dry season can increase the risk of fires. Furthermore, the BMKG warns that the strengthening of El Niño has the potential to exacerbate drought conditions from August to September 2026. Overall, the weather in Jabodetabek on Monday is expected to be conducive for office activities, travel, and outdoor pursuits.
