AI Summary

Vietnamese cultural events are gaining international attention in Paris and beyond. From international fashion shows of the traditional 'Ao Dai' to initiatives in sports and digital etiquette, diverse activities are promoting Vietnamese culture and identity globally.

Vietnamese cultural events are making a significant impression on international stages, including in Paris. Vietnamese Ambassador to France Trinh Duc Hai highlighted the long and eventful history shared by the two countries, along with deep exchanges in people-to-people ties, culture, intellectual life, and science. He noted that bilateral relations have moved beyond their shared history and are firmly looking towards the future. From September 13-16, a delegation from the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee’s Commission for Policy and Strategy visited France, focusing on exchanging experiences in science and technology, innovation, startup ecosystems, and human resource development. The fourth edition of the Maintenon/Pierres Japan Festival, held from September 19–20 in the Eure-et-Loir department of France, featured Vietnam as its honoured guest country alongside Japan. Achievements are also being seen in sports. On the evening of September 21, Vietnam drew 0-0 with Thailand in their final Group E match at the 2026 Asian Games (ASIAD) women's football competition, held at Nagai Stadium in Osaka, Japan. In taekwondo, Bui Ngoc Nhi secured a bronze medal in Toyohashi city, Japan, defeating a Singaporean opponent. In badminton mixed doubles, Nguyen Hoang Minh Tan and Trinh Gia Nghi also won a bronze medal, overcoming their Indian opponents. These medals provide encouragement for Vietnam’s youth development programs and reflect early results from efforts to develop young players. Cultural promotion initiatives are also active. The "Heritage Flow" festival, held from September 11-20, brought together artists and art troupes from Vietnam, the Republic of Korea, Japan, and India, featuring over 16 activities and attracting more than 250,000 visitors. Furthermore, at the Ao Dai Fashion Week London 2026, Vietnam's traditional dress, the Ao Dai, was showcased not just as a cultural symbol but also in line with international fashion industry standards. Regarding conduct in the digital environment, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has introduced a Code of Conduct for Cultural Behaviour in the Digital Environment, aiming to guide organizations and individuals on how to act on online platforms, boost their sense of responsibility, and encourage positive values in the digital space. These activities promote Vietnam’s culture, people, and businesses, creating opportunities for greater people-to-people interaction within the ASEAN Community. The designation of Vietnam Culture Day (November 24) aims to provide the public with opportunities to participate in, create, and enjoy cultural activities, helping to spread positive values and foster pride in Vietnamese culture.
