Phnom Penh Police Arrest 14 Suspects in 7 Criminal Cases Ranging from Traffic Disputes to Theft and Drugs
Phnom Penh police have announced the arrest of 14 suspects involved in seven criminal cases, including assault stemming from traffic disputes, motorcycle theft, document forgery, and drug use. The incidents primarily occurred in August.
Phnom Penh, September 5, 2026: In accordance with the high recommendations of National Police Chief General Sar Thet and the orders of Lieutenant General Chuon Nara, Deputy National Police Chief and Commissioner of Phnom Penh Municipal Police, the Phnom Penh Municipal Police headquarters on the morning of September 5, 2026, presented the results of operations to crack down on 14 suspects involved in 7 different criminal cases. From September 1 to 4, 2026, the Minor Offenses Criminal Police Office, in cooperation with the forces of the Mean Chey District Police Inspectorate, led by Brigadier General Bun Sathya, Deputy Commissioner in charge of criminal police work, and directly implemented by Colonel Mom Savon, Chief of the Minor Offenses Criminal Police Office, conducted investigations and arrested 14 suspects involved in 7 criminal cases as follows: Case 1: Intentional violence with aggravating circumstances (honking at a car and then using violence against the driver). Occurred at 10:45 PM on August 29, 2026, in front of Hong Sun Market, National Road No. 2, Toul Roka Village, Chak Angre Krom Commune, Mean Chey District, Phnom Penh. Case 2: Aggravated theft due to breaking and entering (stealing 2 motorcycles), forgery and illegal use of public documents, and illegal use of narcotics. Occurred at 00:22 AM on August 14, 2026, in the area of a ground-floor rental house, Kbal Damrey Village, Kakab 1 Commune, Por Sen Chey District, Phnom Penh. Case 3: Intentional violence with aggravating circumstances and intentional damage with aggravating circumstances. Occurred at 02:30 AM on August 30, 2026, along Betong Road, Trapaing Rumchek Canal, Trapaing Rumchek Village, Chom Chao 1 Commune, Por Sen Chey District, Phnom Penh. Case 4: Intentional violence with aggravating circumstances and intentional damage with aggravating circumstances. Occurred at 03:00 AM on August 30, 2026, along 30-meter Road, Toul Pongra Village, Chom Chao 1 Commune, Por Sen Chey District, Phnom Penh. Case 5: Intentional violence with aggravating circumstances and intentional damage with aggravating circumstances. Occurred at 11:03 PM on August 21, 2026, on National Road No. 371, Russey 1 Village, Stung Meanchey 3 Commune, Mean Chey District, Phnom Penh. Case 6: Intentional violence with aggravating circumstances and intentional damage with aggravating circumstances. Occurred at 11:15 PM on August 21, 2026, on National Road No. 371, Russey 1 Village, Stung Meanchey 3 Commune, Mean Chey District, Phnom Penh. Case 7: Intentional violence with aggravating circumstances and intentional damage with aggravating circumstances. Occurred at 01:20 AM on August 2, 2026, in front of a concrete factory, 50-meter Road, Prokar Village, Prey Sar Commune, Dangkao District, Phnom Penh.
