Cambodia Prepares to Showcase 'Khmer Smile-Francophonie Smile' to the World

Cambodia is fully prepared to showcase 'Khmer Smile-Francophonie Smile' to the world through the Village de la Francophonie event in 2026, aiming to further boost its tourism industry. This event will highlight the warm hospitality, friendliness, and cultural identity of the Cambodian people, creating a platform for cultural exchange and promoting tourism. It will feature the culinary creations and innovations of Cambodian youth and entrepreneurs, presenting them to approximately 90 member countries of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF). His Excellency Hou Hak, Minister of Tourism, stated this during a workshop to disseminate information about the organization of the Village de la Francophonie event. He was joined by leaders from ministries, institutions, the private sector, development partners, relevant organizations, and distinguished guests at the Ministry of Tourism headquarters. As the host of the 20th Francophonie Summit, Cambodia views this as a significant international platform to showcase its national identity, culture, tourism, cuisine, innovation, and potential under the theme 'Khmer Smile-Francophonie Smile.' Specifically, ministries, institutions, private sector entities, small and medium-sized enterprises, artists, producers, and development partners will have the opportunity to present Cambodia's achievements, tourism potential, cultural products, and investment opportunities on the international stage. All exhibition booths and locations within the Village de la Francophonie will be provided free of charge. The Ministry of Tourism, as the host, calls upon all ministries, institutions, tourism industry associations, businesses, hotels, restaurants, resorts, artists, producers, and educational institutions to actively participate in the exhibition and organize various activities to promote Cambodia's culture, tourism, products, and investment potential to the French-speaking market and the world. Together, they aim to showcase Cambodia's image and national pride as the host of this prestigious international event. On this occasion, Madam Cheab Yuthari, President of the Cambodia-International Cooperation and Development Association (CIAECD), also led members to attend this important program. The event is scheduled to take place over five days, from November 13 to 17, 2026, in the picturesque garden in front of Wat Bottom Vattey. It will showcase art, culture, cooperation, and solidarity between the Kingdom of Cambodia and French-speaking countries through national pavilions, exhibition booths, food exhibition booths, daily diverse artistic performances, and the organization of dialogues and workshops on key themes such as promoting tourism, education, youth, gender equality, peace, and the preservation of cultural heritage.
