Vietnam Enhances Diplomatic Strategy for New Era, Aiming for 'Qualitative Transformation' in National Development

On August 4th, the Vietnamese government convened the plenary session of the 33rd Diplomatic Conference in Hanoi. Prime Minister Le Minh Hung attended, and discussions focused on diplomatic strategies for national development in the new era under the theme 'Diplomacy Serving National Development in the New Era'. The conference, with the slogan 'Innovative Thinking - Decisive Action - Substantive Results', emphasized the role of diplomacy in achieving sustainable national development and enhancing Vietnam's international standing. A particular focus was placed on strengthening cooperation among the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Security, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, recognizing its indispensability for balancing national security and development. Vietnamese diplomacy is positioned as a crucial foundation for building a peaceful and stable international environment, thereby fostering domestic economic growth and social development. Under its one-party system, Vietnam has prioritized economic growth, actively attracting foreign investment and expanding trade. Simultaneously, in its relationship with China, while navigating issues like the South China Sea, Vietnam has pursued a skillful diplomacy to protect its national interests while maintaining economic ties. This conference can be seen as a declaration of Vietnam's intent to achieve a 'qualitative transformation' in its diplomacy to adapt to the new era and achieve its national objectives, considering the complex international landscape.
