Sen Sok District Continues Cleaning Tuol Sampov Canal, Urges Residents to Cooperate in Environmental Protection

The Sen Sok District authority in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, is continuing its cleaning operations along the Tuol Sampov canal, aiming to improve the living environment for local residents and mitigate flood risks. This initiative not only seeks to enhance water flow and drainage efficiency but also focuses on beautifying the environment surrounding the canal. Specifically, the operations involve cutting grass that grows on the canal banks and edges, as well as removing garbage dumped within and around the canal. The goal is to improve the urban landscape and prevent water stagnation during the rainy season. On July 17th, the Sen Sok District's order maintenance force carried out grass cutting and garbage removal activities at the Tuol Sampov canal, located behind Chhok Moa Market in Krams Angkrong village, Krams Tonok commune. This is part of a regular maintenance plan to keep the canal in good condition and remove obstructions to water flow. These efforts are expected to contribute not only to faster water flow and reduced flood risk but also to improving the aesthetic, environmental, and sanitary conditions along the canal, providing residents with a better living environment. On this occasion, the Sen Sok District authority has also appealed to all residents to cooperate in environmental protection. They are urging citizens to properly package and dispose of their waste, avoid dumping it into or along the canal, thereby maintaining hygiene and a comfortable living environment, and ensuring that the canal can effectively fulfill its drainage function.
