Cambodian Red Cross Distributes Humanitarian Aid to Vulnerable Groups

The Cambodian Red Cross has distributed humanitarian aid to 18 vulnerable families in Kampot province. The recipients included the elderly, individuals with disabilities, pregnant women, mothers with young children, people living with HIV, and impoverished families. On the afternoon of September 16th, H.E. Pum Chantini, Secretary General of the Cambodian Red Cross and Vice President of the National Outstanding Figures Working Group, visited Boeung Ta Pream village in Trai Kor commune and Svay Thom village in Krang Ampil commune, Kampot province, to offer greetings and deliver humanitarian aid. She conveyed the deep care and affection of Samdech Kittipritthibandit Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Red Cross, who consistently prioritizes the well-being and living conditions of vulnerable citizens. During the visit, the working group disseminated important health education messages. Pregnant women were encouraged to attend at least four prenatal check-ups at health centers or provincial hospitals and to maintain proper hygiene, nutrition, and health by adhering to the principles of clean drinking, clean eating, and clean living. Individuals living with HIV were also advised to take care of their health, practice clean eating, drinking, and living, and to consistently take their antiretroviral medication as prescribed by healthcare professionals to strengthen their immune systems. They were also urged to share and disseminate this health education information within their communities. Each family received a package containing 25 kilograms of rice, one case of instant noodles, 10 cans of canned fish, one case of mineral water, one bottle of cooking oil, one bottle of soy sauce, one bottle of fish sauce, two bottles of shampoo, one hammock, a kit including a mosquito net, blanket, sarong, and krama, along with a sum of money.
