PHNOM PENH, Sept. 3, 2026 (KPT) — The Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (CCC) and the Korean Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (KOCHAM) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen economic cooperation, focusing on attracting new Korean investment and safeguarding existing businesses, officials said Thursday. The agreement was signed by CCC President Neak Oknha Kith Meng, who also chairs the ASEAN Business Advisory Council Cambodia, and KOCHAM Chairman Kim Seong Su. The ceremony was presided over by Kong Vibol, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister and Director General of the General Department of Taxation. Neak Oknha Kith Meng said the MoU marked an important milestone in cooperation between the two chambers, highlighting Cambodia’s business environment, macroeconomic stability and investment incentives. He said the agreement is designed to protect existing Korean investments while creating conditions to attract additional investors. Kim described the MoU as a historic development, saying it would serve both to attract new Korean investors and safeguard businesses already operating in Cambodia. Under the agreement, the two chambers will share trade data and updates on economic and regulatory policies, match Cambodian and Korean businesses, organize trade missions and forums, and provide mutual support in addressing challenges. The MoU provides a formal framework for expanding Cambodia–Korea private‑sector cooperation, giving Korean companies a structured channel to strengthen operations and investment in the Kingdom.
