Preah Sihanouk Province, Cambodia – July 19, 2026 – Preah Sihanouk Province welcomed a delegation of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) from China's Jiangsu Province, led by Mr. HUANG CHENGAN, Chairman of the Association and Chairman of the Council of the Jiangsu Province SME Service Association, representing Aozhan Industrial Co., Ltd. The visit aims to deepen understanding of investment potential and opportunities in Preah Sihanouk Province. His Excellency Mang Sineth, Governor of Preah Sihanouk Province, highlighted the robust "ironclad" friendship between Cambodia and China, noting that development strategies pursued by successive Cambodian governments, in conjunction with China's "Belt and Road" initiative, have contributed to the province's growth. The province has seen numerous achievements, including the development of expressways, special economic zones, and the attraction of many Chinese investors. Governor Sineth emphasized that Preah Sihanouk Province, located in the southeastern part of Cambodia, possesses rich potential in tourism, industry, and agro-industry. As an international port city with beautiful coastlines, it has been hailed as the "Shining Star of the East" and recognized as having one of the most beautiful coastlines globally. The province serves as a core hub for Cambodia's four coastal provinces and boasts well-developed water, land, and air transportation networks. Notably, it features three international ports, with the Preah Sihanouk Autonomous Port undergoing development in three phases, scheduled for completion by 2030. It will have a water depth of 17.50 meters, capable of accommodating vessels with a deadweight tonnage of 160,000 tons. Land connectivity includes National Roads No. 3 and 4, expressways, and railways. The airport has a runway measuring 3,300 meters, longer than that of Phnom Penh International Airport. The government views Preah Sihanouk Province's potential and is promoting it as a multi-purpose special economic zone, divided into four zones: 1. Industrial and Logistics Zone/Industrial Park as a logistics hub; 2. Integrated Urban Zone, creating a living city, commercial center, and international financial center; 3. Natural Tourism Zone (islands); and 4. Agro-Industry and Aquaculture Zone. Mr. HUANG CHENGAN expressed gratitude for the warm reception. This marks his second visit to Cambodia, accompanied by members of the Jiangsu Province SME Service Association, primarily companies in the construction materials and electricity sectors, to explore investment opportunities in Preah Sihanouk. He also expressed interest in investing in Preah Sihanouk by establishing a waste-to-energy power plant and extended an invitation to Governor Sineth and his delegation to visit Jiangsu Province.
