Cambodia's Kep Province Conducts Military Training to Enhance Unit Capabilities

The Kep Provincial Military Operations Area, in line with the plan of the Ground Force Command, held an opening ceremony for a training course on July 16, 2026, aimed at enhancing the capabilities of its soldiers, non-commissioned officers, and officers. During the ceremony, Lieutenant Colonel Tue Sokhum delivered a welcome speech and reported on the training plan and program. He emphasized the importance for trainees to improve their learning capacity and to clearly understand the military's discipline, ethical code, and their roles and duties as soldiers, urging them to consistently and diligently adhere to these principles. Major General Chim Kmao, Commander of the Kep Provincial Military Operations Area, stated at the opening of the training course that with the nation enjoying peace, political stability, and a sound economy, this is an opportune moment for the military to undergo training to enhance the capabilities and quality of its officers, non-commissioned officers, and soldiers. He called for the revitalization and reawakening of the spirit of every soldier to effectively execute assigned orders and fulfill their duties in safeguarding national territorial integrity. This training underscores the importance of the military's role in maintaining domestic stability, especially in the context of Cambodia's deepening ties with China and its focus on strengthening national defense capabilities. Such exercises are considered essential not only for internal security but also for enhancing border security and the ability to respond to potential threats.
