MANILA, Philippines — The tropical storm being monitored east of Northern Luzon has entered the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), the state weather bureau reported on Thursday. In its 8 a.m. update, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the tropical storm entered the PAR around 7 a.m. this Thursday. Pagasa said the tropical storm is currently moving offshore northeast of the Philippines. As of this posting, the state weather bureau has not yet provided details on the potential impact of Queenie on any part of the country. However, Pagasa continues to monitor the tropical storm for possible threats to the country. Pagasa urged the public to monitor the weather updates from the agency. Pagasa also advised the public to prepare for possible flash floods and rain-induced landslides in their respective areas.
