Vietnam attaches great importance to its special solidarity, friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Cuba, and believes the Cuban Party, State and people will achieve new successes in national development, said Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Le Quang Long. The Vietnamese Embassy in Austria on August 27 hosted a gathering for diplomats, staff and their families from the Vietnamese, Lao and Cuban embassies, reaffirming the traditional friendship and special solidarity among the three countries. Vu Hai Ha, member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Committee for National Defence, Security and External Relations, highlighted the Cuban Revolution as a shining symbol of the struggle for national independence, sovereignty and social justice worldwide. The centerpiece exhibition features more than 100 documents, materials and photos, some made public for the first time. It highlights President Ho Chi Minh’s life, career and revolutionary activities in China and his close ties with Chinese revolutionaries, intellectuals and people, underscoring the formation, cultivation and continuation of Vietnam-China friendship across periods. The event aims to provide an international scientific forum for further research, exchanges and discussions on authenticity in world heritage conservation, in close connection with the outstanding universal value, integrity and cultural values of heritage elements. Vietnam's emphasis on its relationship with Cuba is understood within the context of its foreign policy as a one-party state, aiming to enhance its international standing and strengthen solidarity among socialist nations. Highlighting the ideological ties between President Ho Chi Minh and former Cuban leader Fidel Castro also serves to reinforce the legitimacy and leadership of the Communist Party within Vietnam.
