Vietnam Communist Party, German SPD Hold Ideological Exchange to Strengthen Ties

A delegation from the Communist Party of Vietnam, led by Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, conducted its 11th ideological exchange with a delegation from the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD). The exchange focused on the theme "Transitions in a Multipolar World - Common Paths." This initiative aims to deepen cooperation between the two parties and promote the strategic partnership between Vietnam and Germany. The discussions highlighted the importance of enhancing economic cooperation between the two countries, particularly in effectively leveraging Vietnam's potential and creating a favorable foundation for expanding collaboration. Specifically, the promotion of direct flight routes between Vietnam and the Federal Republic of Germany was discussed, which is expected to invigorate economic activities through increased people-to-people and goods exchanges. Furthermore, a loan and aid package totaling 60 million euros was signed to address climate change and promote forest development, underscoring both nations' commitment to sustainable development goals. Vietnam was also invited as an honorary guest to a multicultural festival in Germany, fostering deeper mutual understanding through cultural exchange. This ideological exchange is part of Vietnam's broader strategy to strengthen political, economic, and cultural ties with major European nations as it advances its socialist-oriented market economy and diversifies its international relations. The Communist Party of Vietnam seeks to share insights on advanced ideologies and governance models to inform its domestic development strategies.
