Vehicles stopping illegally on Myawaddy-Mae Sot Friendship Bridge No. 1 will be prosecuted, even to the extent of prohibiting passage

It is known that vehicles stopping illegally on the Myawaddy-Mae Sot Friendship Bridge No. 1, which is frequently experiencing traffic congestion, will be prosecuted, even to the extent of prohibiting passage. Due to illegal vehicle stops on the Mae Sot side of the Myawaddy-Mae Sot Friendship Bridge No. 1, traffic congestion is occurring, and in order to ensure smooth passage, rules to be followed by drivers have been posted on signs for public visibility. The rules to be followed by vehicles are that vehicles passing over the bridge are strictly prohibited from stopping by the left side, stopping diagonally, or stopping in double rows. Furthermore, when waiting to have the entry stamp for Mae Sot stamped, drivers must queue up in an orderly manner on the left side, and it has been urged not to overtake the vehicle in front before the stamping process is completed. Violators of the stipulated rules will face prosecution, including prohibition of passage across the bridge for the first offense for one week, for the second offense for one month, and for the third offense for up to three months, for drivers and vehicles that stop illegally. It has been announced that for vehicles that do not comply with the rules, action will be taken if citizens report and provide evidence through photographs, and drivers are urged to drive in a disciplined manner. It is known that strict measures will be taken to ensure that rules are not violated, as indicated on the signs. Due to traffic congestion on the Myawaddy-Mae Sot Friendship Bridge No. 1, student transport vehicles studying in Thailand and emergency social rescue vehicles are facing many difficulties, and approximately 2,000 Myanmar nationals are passing through to Thailand by vehicle daily via this bridge.
